Jasper Junior Hosfelt
Cryptside services will be held for Jasper Junior Hosfelt on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Jasper entered into rest on Sunday, September 18, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer, at his home with his family by his side.
Born December 16, 1923 in Nebraska, he served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 serving in Italy, France and Germany. Jasper moved to Ukiah in 1953, married Ida Paoli in 1959 and worked for Masonite for some years retiring in 1986. Ida preceded him in death in 2000. Jasper was an avid pinochle player. He also loved to travel and tell a good joke or a story about his boyhood. Jasper was a gentle man, loved by those who knew him best.
He is survived by his wife Joyce and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Delnova Spencer Hosfelt, his half-sister Hazel Dyer and his half-brother Wray Hosfelt.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ukiah Senior Center or Phoenix Hospice is requested.
