IRA DOMINIC CAMPBELL, JR.
Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Cousin – Ira Dominic Campbell Jr. was a lifelong resident of Redwood Valley. He entered into the spirit world on November 29, 2023. He was 69 years old. Born November 7, 1954 to Ira and Susie Campbell. Ira was a proud member of the Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians. If you didn’t know him personally he was known as the guy with the top hat, he was a talker. His welcoming demeanor made it easy to talk to random strangers. Just like his mother he was big hearted. He wore his heart on his sleeve and would cry at the drop of a hat. His top hat made him seem taller but his family knew him as shorty or little ira. Ira had a love for the ocean and all that it provided. He spent a lot of time surfishing and picking seaweed to share with his beloved elders. Even as his health declined he would make the trek to gather seaweed for his special girl. Ira enjoyed practicing his Native American Traditions. Telling stories of the old days, singing and praying. He was always known to share his knowledge and prayers within our community. He was known to be a good friend and loving person. He will always be remembered as the man who loved hard and loved his family dearly! He enjoyed gardening, driving his hot rod truck, living amongst his many cats, spending everyday with his wife and his beloved Bonnie. Having a contagious laugh and smile to anyone he encountered. He will be greatly missed!
Ira is survived by his Wife Cheryl Campbell they were married for 32 years, Sister Iris Martinez; Children: Darlene Campbell and Ira Campbell III; Stepchildren: Carlos Rabano Jr., Rachel Rabano, Victor Rabano, and Carly Rabano. He had a total of 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews, and many cousins.
