James Dalton Gibson, known to many as Jim, passed away in Redding, California, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. Born into a family of skilled mechanics and inventors on September 9, 1940, James took pride in his roots and carried that passion throughout his life.
James served his country honorably for 4 years in the U.S. Navy, a period he held dear to his heart. Following his military service, he embarked on a career path that showcased his compassion and strength. Starting as a psychiatric technician and later retiring as a correctional officer at San Quentin State Prison, James touched the lives of many with his unwavering commitment to helping others.
In addition to his professional endeavors, James had a keen interest in genealogy and family history. Descended from Mayflower pilgrim families, he delved into the intricate web of connections that bind us all together. His dedication to unraveling the past not only enriched his own life but also provided a deeper understanding of the enduring ties that link generations.
Among his proudest accomplishments was creating a warm and welcoming home in Red Bluff with his beloved wife Marina. Together, they curated a space filled with art, antiques, and cherished family memorabilia—a true reflection of their shared passions and memories.
James was a man of many talents and interests; he shared his love for deer hunting with his father, uncles, and brothers as they traveled across the western landscapes. His jovial nature and zest for life endeared him to countless friends and family members who will forever cherish his memory.
James is survived by Marina, his devoted wife, children Renee, Sandra (Paul), Barbara (John), Shane; Gilbert aka Lee; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; as well as numerous friends whose lives were touched by his presence. He now joins his parents Cora and Clarence Gibson, daughter Kimberly White, sister Fran (Paul), brother Marvin, son-in-law Scott Rourk in eternal peace.
