Jeffrey Duane Burrell, a beloved husband, father, teacher, coach, and pillar of the Ukiah community, passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 2, 1958, in Ukiah, California, Jeff dedicated his life to his family, students, and community, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Jeff was born and raised in Ukiah, where he cultivated a lifelong passion for sports and education. He excelled in both football and baseball and was honored as part of the first group inducted into Mendocino Junior College's Hall of Fame. His love for sports was not limited to his own achievements but extended into his coaching career, where he inspired countless young athletes. His impact on the field and in the classroom was profound, fostering both athletic skill and personal growth in his students.

Jeff's commitment to serving his community went beyond teaching and coaching. He dedicated his life to helping others, always striving to make Ukiah a better place. Through his construction company, he supported the community by employing local residents, providing jobs and opportunities to many. His kindness, wisdom, and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Tina Burrell, and their children: Ryan Ruddick, Melissa Gritton, Taylor Dale, and Dante Burrell, along with their families, including six grandchildren, who were the lights of his life. He also leaves behind his cherished sisters, Geneva Kinney and her husband, John, and Denise Gorny and her husband, Phil, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olga and Ernest, and his brothers, Brooks and Michael Burrell.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor on February 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Barra of Mendocino Winery Event Center, located at 7051 N. State Street, Redwood Valley, CA. Everyone is welcome to join the family in honoring Jeff and the lasting impact he made on the community.

Jeffrey Duane Burrell will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, leadership, and service will continue to inspire generations to come.
