Joanne Fay (West) Peaslee passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 73, with her husband and children by her side.
Joanne was born on April 23, 1951, to Ruth and Earl West of Susanville, CA. The West family moved to Ukiah when Joanne was a young, and she ended up graduating from Ukiah High School in 1969 and then attended Foothill College. After her first year she ended up meeting her soulmate in Rand Peaslee. Love came fast and they started their lifelong journey in matrimony on March 6. 1971. Joanne loved Ukiah, and the couple made the decision to make this their home. Rand and Joanne’s marriage would last over 53 years. Joanne worked hard for Richard P. McClintock M.D. for over 40 years alongside her mother Ruth. When Dr McClintock decided to close his office, Joanne continued her love of working and enjoyed employment at Barra Winery. The last job she had was for the Ukiah Chamber of Commerce. Joanne loved this job not only because of the people she worked with but also engaging with her community and taking in the beautiful scenery of downtown, especially the fall colors, her favorite time of year.
Joanne’s love of yard work was an obsession, very visible if you visited her home. The love of decorating for every holiday was also a passion. Her house was always ready to spread love and cheer and perfect in every way. Joanne loved spending time with her family and friends. She made going to lunch with friends and shopping a hobby.
Joanne is proceeded in death by her parents Earl and Ruth West, and sister Nina Sands. She is survived by her husband Rand-jay Peaslee Sr, her oldest son Rand-jay Jr. and his wife Susie, her youngest son Lucas and his wife Rachael and daughter Cindy Christando and husband Blaine. Also, by her grandchildren Darcie, Nina, Drew, Zoe, Avery Peaslee and Austin and Tanner Christando. Joanne was also very close to her nephews Jason and Jerrod Sands. Her family was her pride and joy! Joanne should be remembered as a wonderful wife, loving mother and grandmother and a friend to many. Joanne will be dearly missed by many!
