John Paul Isom, age 37, of Ukiah, California, died Saturday, August 17, 2024, in a one-car accident near Willits, California.
John was born February 9, 1987 in Tullahoma, Tennessee, the son of the late Rev. Dr. Paul Burton Isom of Dunlap, Illinois.
John is survived by his wife Kelsey Hale Isom; his mother Rev. Margaret (Margo) Richardson and step-parent Stephan Hill of Renton, Washington; and step-parent Pam Isom of Dunlap, Illinois.
John finished his B.A. at Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois where he met his wife Kelsey, the love of his life. Together, the couple embarked on an adventure-filled career as park rangers, serving together at Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, Dinosaur National Monument, and Bryce Canyon National Park. Most recently, John was a certified trainer for Redwood Community Services Inc. in Ukiah, California.
John moved to Ukiah in November 2023 to join Kelsey. John was creative and imaginative person, often found writing novels and screenplays, drawing in a sketchbook, or filming and editing silly Sci-fi movies. While quiet when you first met him, John's sharp wit and dry humor could leave folks in stitches.
He will be forever loved and remembered by his friends and family.
