Beulah Emily Johnson

Beulah Emily Johnson was born December 24, 1921 in Biscoe, Arkansas to Jesse and Lessie Cox. She passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 in Brookings, Oregon. She met Earl Johnson in the San Joaquin Valley in California and they were married in 1938. In 1946 they moved to Hopland and worked on the Valley Oaks Ranch where they already had 2 children, Carl and Linda. They then moved to Ukiah in 1951 and resided there for 59 years. They were married for 64 years until Earl’s passing in 2002. Beulah worked at Ukiah General Hospital for 34 years as a cook. She had a love for music and played her organ for many years at Christmas. She enjoyed garage sales and making desserts. When she lived here in Ukiah she attended the Trinity Baptist Church.
Beulah is survived by her son Carl and wife Patti Johnson, daughter Linda and husband Larry Griffin, brother James Cox, grandchildren Wendy (Chuck) Petty, Kristie (John) Potvora, Bret (Kathryn) Griffin, Barry (Lynda) Griffin, Travis Sallander, Kim (Mark) Szalkiewicz and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 13, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Ukiah Cemetery Chapel. Visitation will be on Monday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary.
