Dolores Jean Gilchrist Johnson
Dolores Jean Gilchrist Johnson passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 in Petaluma with her family by her side.
Born February 3, 1931 in San Francisco, Dolores attended Balboa high school and moved to the Ukiah area 59 years ago. She was very proud of her five sons and their families. Dolores loved to travel and spent time visiting South America, Europe, England, Ireland, Australia and Asia. She particularly enjoyed traveling with her best friend Louise Rodrigue. She was an original member of the UHS Booster Club and had been active with Ukiah Womens Golf before her husband became ill. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her love for her family, the cowbell that she rang at every UHS football game and her continued support for those she loved and admired. Her favorite quote, See, I told you I was sick.
She is survived by her sons Norman Johnson, Jr. and wife Carolyn, Michael Johnson and wife Tylene, Harold Johnson and wife Ingrid, daughter-in-law Kay Johnson, grandchildren Cameron, Beau, Blair, Jordan, Jamie, Jesse, Jared, Jake, Chandra, Desie, Madison, Sarah, Jackie and Ethan, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Maude Gilchrist, in-laws P.J. and Cora Prinz, brothers Thomas and John Gilchrist, sister Patricia Blea, husband Norman and sons Christopher and John.
At her request no formal services will be held. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
