Obituary:
Roy Everett Johnston, 75, of Ukiah passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Ukiah Health Care. Roy was born November 24, 1936 in Mena, Arkansas.
Roy was a 50 plus year resident of Ukiah. He went back to finish high school graduating the same year Chuck graduated kindergarten. He was a mill worker for 35 years.
He most proud of his son, grandchildren and family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and family time.
Roy lived for his family. He made it a point to never miss a family sports game, event and taking a day to visit with family. Roy loved to eat. If a visit with family involved eating great food he was the happiest man around. Roy and Beverly were the proudest parents and grandparents. They loved babysitting the grandkids. Roy loved hunting, fishing with his brothers and his son. He loved watching his son play his sports. He always loved being involved with everything his family did.
Roy is survived by his son Chuck and his wife Adrienne Johnston of Ukiah, sisters Tressie and husband Ray Bickford of Bangor, Ca. Bettie and husband Robert Haney of Beliot, Wi, brothers Jim and wife Sandra Johnston of Fort Bragg, Ca. Robert and wife Nancy Johnston of St. Robert, Mo. Grandchildren Jodie Johnston and fiancé Matt Black of Redwood Valley, Justin Johnson of Ukiah, great grandchildren Madison Black of Redwood Valley, Natalie Black of Redwood Valley. In addition, numerous nieces and nephews survive. Roy was preceded death by his wife Beverly Johnston, brother Ben Johnston, sister Alice Reed and parents Roy and Rose Johnston.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Eversole Mortuary. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 11 am with Pastor David Donnell officiating.
