Obituary:
Sharon Leilani Kalaau-Larson, a resident of Ukiah has passed away 3-17-2020. Her heart failed her at age 55. She was born to a daughter of Maui, Audrey Kalawaia and an adventurous son of San Francisco, Jack Florea on 8-3-1964.
Sharon was raised in Hayward, CA with family immersed in the culture of Hawaii. They sang and danced the hula professionally and enjoyed their community luaus. Sharon was teased a lot for having haole freckles! Oliver Kalaau adopted Sharon when he married her mother. Sharons life was disrupted forever when her mother died of cancer. Sharon was a teenager when she began to struggle with emotional & mental problems.
In 1993 Sharon married Eric Larson on a 4th of July. They wanted to celebrate with fireworks! They lived in Fort Bragg and were together for 15 years. He says she was a blessing to his life.
One of her dreams came true when she saved enough money to visit her mothers family on Maui. They said she loved her Hawaiian culture and was a joyful person. Sharon loved the water & beaches.
Ukiah was a blessing to her difficult at times life. She attended the Redwood Community school & services for counseling & friendship. She was genuinely kind & generous even when she had very little.
God-parents Gay & Wills Bell are missing her.
