Kay Louise (Bartolomei) Beeson was born to Getta (McClellan) and Julio Bartolomei on November 17, 1937, in Martinez, CA and peacefully passed into glory on February 18, 2023 in Ukiah, CA.
Kay grew up in Martinez between her home in town and the family’s ranch in Franklin Canyon. As a young adult she was a secretary. After marriage, she moved to Sonoma County and became a homemaker, rancher and restaurant manager at the Geysers. In 1980, the family settled in Potter Valley and she continued as a homemaker, rancher, in-home health care provider and restaurant manager at the Ukiah Auction Yard. She was an active member of the California and Mendocino County Cattlewomen’s and Cattlemen’s Associations and volunteered as a 4-H Leader.
Kay was known as a Western, classy, lady who always had her lipstick on and never a hair out of place. She was loyal, friendly, and made a comfortable home for family and friends. She was optimistic and truly believed that God is to be trusted. She enjoyed singing, laughing, movies (especially musicals), and yummy treats. She was an avid Bay Area Sports fan too!
Kay lived for and adored her family and her animals. She is survived by her husband, Gerald, of fifty-seven years, step-sons Gregg (Lori) and Lance (Marilyn), son Brian (Rochelle), and daughter Lovina (Brandon), fourteen grandchildren (predeceased by Adah Rose Beeson), twenty-one great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous critters.
Please join us for a memorial service at twelve noon, March 4, 2023 at the Potter Valley Bible Church, followed by a reception. An eleven o’clock graveside service for family will proceed the memorial at the Potter Valley Cemetery.
Please consider a donation to the California Cattlemen’s Livestock Memorial Research Fund in her honor.
