Betty was born into the Enright/Anderson family of Ukiah on October 20, 1925 where she grew up on Grove Avenue, surrounded by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. At age 14 she worked at the Ukiah Theater as an usherette, where at age 16 she met her husband-to-be by questioning that Hopland boy about his age as he paid at the box office. After two years of going steady, Chris proposed to her while on military leave during WWII. They were married after the war on May 19, 1946, and remained happily so for 67 years. She was and is the love of his life.
Betty graduated from Ukiah High School in the class of 1943. She loved to play tennis and was active in Jobs Daughters Int. After graduation she worked as a telephone operator for Pac Bell until she married Chris and moved to Hopland to the Henderson-Keiffer family ranch. Her life was through her faith and family and friends and her love for all was endless. She was the hub of communication in all family matters and many community activities involving the local St. Francis Catholic church and Guild, St.Marys School, and the Hopland Volunteer Fire Dept (to name a few). She loved cooking and canning, gardening, entertaining family and friends, reading and writing, and reciting poetry and prayers. Some of her favorite memories were from adventures in hunting camps over the years.
