Obituary:
Jessie Kindt
Jessie Kindt passed away peacefully at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa on May 19, 2011 with her three sons at her side. She was born to William H. & Mattie I. Kindt, the youngest of 7 children, on July 21, 1927 in Croton, Ohio. While still in high school, she married Paul Velliquette while home on leave in Dec. of 44, and was soon with some of her sisters working in Oakland to be near their husbands who were stationed in the Pacific. After the War, they returned to Toledo, began a family, and moved to the country on the Maumee River with Gramma Kindt to help. By 1962 Calif. beckoned, and Jessie, the 3 boys, her Brother Jack and family came to San Bernardino, with Paul, and a house with a pool soon thereafter. She met Marilyn & Alan Dale of Baby News which began a career of over 20 years helping new families. In 1973, Paul & Jessie divorced. She got her GED, helped with the grandkids, sang in the choir, and eventually took back her maiden name. Her sister Eileen moved in, and together they gardened & decorated. Jessie loved both pursuits, as well as looking at and working on houses. Family always came first though, and in 1991 she moved to Ukiah to be closer to her brother, sister, two sons, and newer grandsons. Here she thrived, enjoyed new friends at the Senior Center, and loved the Dances. Although she never remarried, Robert Clark of Redlands, and Gelbert Worth of Clear Lake held a special place in her heart. She had a wonderful shy personality, a great sense of humor, and was always kind, giving, and gracious.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: William O., Winoma Lou, Varon Robert, Maxine Isabel, Eileen Marie, & Philip Jack Kindt.
Jessie is survived by her Sons: Scott, Mark (Wife Diane), & Jeff (Wife Shanea); 6 Grandsons: Justin, Jason, Ryan, Aaryn, John, & Jordan; and 4 Great Grandchildren: Christian, Drayden, Sumaya, and Jessica, so far.
Services will be held at Ukiah Cemetery, Wed. May 25th @ 11:00 A.M.
