Obituary:
Our beloved Crystal Knight, a member of the Karuk Tribe, proud mother and friend entered her final resting place suddenly December 5, 2016. Born June 11, 1979, in Happy Camp, California to Rhonda Aubrey of Happy Camp and Alfredo Knight of Hopland, California, Crystal was raised on the Hopland Reservation and resided in the area for most of her life.
Crystal liked to laugh, and laugh loud. She lifted the spirits of those around her with that laughter. As a Community Health Representative for her father’s tribe, Crystal served the Hopland Tribal members well and aided in improving lives. Crystal had an extraordinarily adventurous spirit, which made it a challenge for her to find peace. She faced difficult life experiences with ferocity and struggled to find her way in this world and a better life for her children. She never stopped trying and will be forever missed.
Crystal was preceded in death by her brother Jordan Aubrey and is survived by her parents, brothers Myron Aubrey and Alfredo Vedolla, children Chantal Rose Knight, son-in-law Frederick Hendrix, sons Alfredo Asher Knight and Aiden Whetstone, two grandsons and three granddaughters and numerous extended family members.
Her unexpected death left the family unprepared to support funeral costs, and in lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed and appreciated via check paid to: Eversole Mortuary c/o C. Knight 141 Low Gap Road, Ukiah, California, or directly to her daughter, Chantal Knight.
A viewing and services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at the Hopland Tribal Gym. On Wednesday, December 21, 2016, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Hopland Tribal Gym at 12:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service and a family luncheon gathering.
