At 16, Larry enlisted and served six years in the U.S. Army. He was a Veteran of WWII, including the occupations of Japan and Germany.
Following his military service, Larry embarked on a distinguished 32-year career in the Azusa and Ukiah Police Departments. His dedication and hard work were recognized when he graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy.
Larry’s greatest achievements were raising his loving family, caring for friends, and enjoying hiking and the outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sally Ochoa Maxson, his sister Audrey Terry, his brother Robert Maxson, and his great-great-grandson Kayn. Larry is survived by four daughters, Tracey (Gene), Vicki (Pete), Cindy (Ted), and Angie (Larry); eight grandchildren, Aaron, Jessica, Chuck, Nicole, Josh, Bradley, Maxson, Isaac; and six great-grandchildren Gina, Casie, Katie, Emma, Zeke, and Archer; sisters Terry Harper and Deborah Murguia and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be a private service.
