At his request, no services will be held for Jerry Glen Lindsey of Lakeside, Oregon, who passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 in Reedsport, Oregon. Born July 10, 1953 in Monroe, Louisiana, Jerry lived in Willits from 1955 to 1999. His last 12 years were spent living in Lakeside, Oregon where he accomplished his dream of making his home into a place of beauty to be enjoyed by all. Jerry had a quick wit and could charm you with his smile.
He leaves behind his loving mother Jeraldine Thomas of Willits, sisters Helen Ann Underwood and husband Eddie of Rio Del, Fern Broyles and husband Ron of Yale, Oklahoma, Betty Sue Reid and husband Joe of Potter Valley, brothers Edward Lee Lindsey and wife Ada of Clarks, Louisiana, Steve Davis and wife Linda of Salinas, D.J. Lindsey of Potter Valley, numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful companions, two Airedales named Flo and B.J. who were always by his side. He was preceded in death by his wife Libby and his father Dewey.
Jerry will be remembered for his love of his family, friends and his dogs. He helped many people whom most would have turned their backs on. That is his greatest legacy that will live on forever in our hearts. He often said he was a living legend and we believe all his family and friends would agree. “We love you Jerry, our son, brother, uncle and friend.”
