Obituary:
George Nick Loijos was born in Youngstown, OH on November 3, 1942. George’s family moved to Ukiah when he was seven years old. After attending Ukiah High School, George traveled the world serving the US Navy during the Vietnam War. George and his wife Sandy founded and ran a trucking business for over 40 years, and owned and managed residential properties. They raised four children together. George enjoyed motorcycles, travel, fishing, gardening and most of all his family. George died on July 9th in San Francisco, CA. George was preceded in death by his son, Robert Loijos, his father, Nick Loijos and his mother, Sophia Loijos. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Loijos, Ukiah; four children, Michael A. Loijos, Lakeport, Dena Loijos (Kent Edwards), Santa Cruz , Alex Loijos, Santa Cruz, Ariana Loijos (Andrew Spencer), Alameda; two grandsons, Nikos Loijos-Tracy and Gavin Loijos-Tracy, Santa Cruz; his sister, Maria Brunson (Marvin Brunson), Windsor and his nephew, Michael D. Loijos, Santa Rosa. Relatives and friends are welcome to share in celebrating his life at the Lake Mendocino Clubhouse on Wednesday, July 16 at 1 pm.
