Funeral services for Sophie Loijos of Ukiah will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary with Father Tekle Bini officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Sophie passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Redwood Cove with her family by her side.
Born June 18, 1921 in Greece, Sophie has resided in the Ukiah area for the past 63 years. She was a homemaker, a volunteer for the Heart Association and member of Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was most proud of being an American Citizen and her membership in Eastern Star. She will be remembered for her Baklava every Christmas. She was kind, loving and generous. Everyone who knew her, loved her.
Sophie is survived by her daughter Niki Loijos Brunson (Marvin) of Windsor, son George Loijos (Sandy) of Ukiah, brother Stanley Pamfilis (Aliki) of Greece, grandchildren Michael A. Loijos, Michael N. Loijos, Dena Loijos (Kent Edwards), Alex N. Loijos, Ariana Loijos (Andrew Spencer) and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Nick Loijos, grandson Robert L. Loijos and sister Isabella Pamfilis.
Memorial contributions to Shriners Hospital are preferred.
Following the services there will be a gathering at the Lake Mendocino Clubhouse.
