Obituary:
Francisco Frank Lopez formerly of Hopland, Ca. entered into eternal rest on June 15, 2011 at an Oakland Hospital. He was 83 years old. Born in Encinal, Texas on December 7th 1927 to Francisco Lopez, Sr. and Estela Molina, He was the oldest of all his siblings and in his hometown he was known as Chicoy. In his early years he had worked as a baker, and a truck driver in Laredo and San Antonio, TX. He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1945 and was stationed in Chandler, AZ. At Williams Field with SQ. B-1 3010th AAF BU. Where he was an aviation mechanic assistant.
He married Anita Gonzalez, also from Encinal, TX in 1947 they moved to San Jose, Ca. In 1959, he entered into agriculture doing fieldwork mostly in pears. In 1963, he moved to Ukiah and later established his own business, Lopez Farm Labor Contracting and became known as Don Pancho. In the early 70s he moved to Hopland, Ca. where he continued to run his farm labor business and also worked as a vineyard manager for Fred Kunde.
Frank and Anita had seven children together. Frank is survived by four sons, John of Healdsburg, CA, Rudy of Cloverdale, CA, Jesse of Redwood Valley, CA. and Christopher of San Antonio, TX, two daughters Elma of McMinnville, OR, and Susie of Kelseyville, CA. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, his brother Luis Uncle Louie of San Jose, CA, and Hector Tio Hector of Zapata, TX., his sister Dora of Laredo, TX., and his second wife Lupe of Oakland, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years, Anita, his daughter Elsa, his great grandson Steven and two sisters Amalia and Josefina.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 4-8 PM at the Eversole Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Hopland St. Francis Mission, Catholic Church with graveside services following the Mass at the Hopland Cemetery. Frank will be buried next to Anita to rest eternally. There will be a gathering following the services at Jesse and Margies house 7920 Oak Pond Court in Redwood Valley.
