Shirley Ann (Dockins) Martin

Graveside services will be held for Shirley Ann Martin on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Ukiah Cemetery with Pastor David Donnell officiating. Shirley passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Ukiah.
Born September 10, 1935 in Calpella, Shirley was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated high school and worked as a car hop waitress at Flavorland Drive In. After raising her family she worked as kitchen dietician for Ukiah Adventist Hospital. Shirley was proud of raising her two sons as a single parent after being widowed. She will be remembered for being a woman of strength, quiet manner and the love she had for her family. She loved keeping busy at home where she found peacefulness and tranquility. She also loved going on Caribbean cruises and trips to Hawaii with family and friends.
Shirley is survived by her sons Jimmy Martin of Ukiah, Mike (Patty) Martin of Ukiah, sisters Maria (Don) Lisle of Point, Texas, Pat (Ken) Speers of Redding, brothers Harold (Phyllis) Dockins of Ukiah, Robert (Jeanette) Dockins of Redwood Valley, sister-in-law Donna Dockins of Redwood Valley, grandchildren Amy Martin of Tualatin, Oregon, Jared Martin of Ukiah, Cody Martin of Ukiah and two great grandchildren Amia and Alijah. She was preceded in death by her husband James Martin, father Luther Dockins, mother Erma Dockins, brothers Lonnie and Kenneth Dockins, and sisters Inez O’Neill and Norma Kallio.
