Obituary:
Dolores Lorene Brooks Martinelli
Born on September 4, 1925 in Ukiah, to Wiley and Jennie Brooks of Potter Valley. She passed away in her home on January 8, 2012, with her husband and daughter at her side, after a long courageous battle with renal failure. A lifelong resident of Mendocino County, she attended school in Potter Valley and graduated from Ukiah High School in 1943. She graduated from Burbank Business College in Santa Rosa. She married her high school sweetheart, Lewis Martinelli on September 9, 1945. They celebrated their 66th Anniversary in 2011. She worked as a Bookkeeper for many years for Production Credit Association and later for Rainbow Irrigation, prior to her retirement. She always enjoyed spending time with her family. Over the years she enjoyed teaching her daughter and granddaughter how to cook and bake. She always put her family first. Dolores loved to travel taking several cruises and trips with their trailer. She also enjoyed many trips to Wild Horse Reservoir to go fishing. Many summers and weekends were enjoyed at their home at Old Station where she fished with her grandchildren.
She especially loved the holiday season and all the cooking, baking and preparations for the family gatherings. She was always proud of her family and their many accomplishments.
She was a member of TOPS for many years and enjoyed the friendships she made. She loved being around people and always had a smile for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers: Byron and Leland Brooks and her son, Gary.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lewis Martinelli, daughter, Linda Talso (Marvin), grandchildren: Justin (Janene) Talso and Mariah Talso; great grandchildren Christopher and Lucy Talso.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dolores was a friend to all she met. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Ukiah Hospice, P.O. Box 763, Ukiah, CA 95482.
A Memorial Service will be held at Eversole Mortuary on Friday, January 13, 2012, at 11AM.
