Obituary:
William Woods McClure, better known as Woody, born July 8, 1943 lost his battle with cancer on Sept. 4, 2012. Born and raised in San Francisco he graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in business. He began his career in banking in the Bay Area before purchasing his cabin at Lake Pillsbury Ranch, his sanctuary, where he’s resided since 1983. In 1993, he began working for the County of Mendocino Dept. of Social Services until his retirement in 2005. Woody was known for his generous and loving heart and his quick-witted sense of humor.
Woody was preceded in death by his mother Betsy McCandless, father Stuart McClure, brother Duncan McClure and 1 nephew Geoffrey Magyary. Woody leaves behind his love of 21 years, Ellen Chinn, his brother Roan and wife Kandace McClure of Oregon and Steve and Pat Magyary of El Cerrito, 3 beloved step-daughters Debbie Flynn of New York, Dawna Coleman of Lake Co and Dayna Oseguera of Ukiah, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 5 nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Eversole Mortuary on Sat. Sept. 15, 2012 at 1pm followed by a celebration of life at the Lake Mendocino Mobile Home Estates Clubhouse.
