Obituary:
Dural L. McCombs
Memorial services for Dural L. McCombs of Ukiah will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11 am at Eversole Mortuary. A pot luck reception will follow immediately at the Saturday Afternoon Club. Dural passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at a local convalescent home.
Born October 7, 1924 in Covelo, Dural was raised and graduated high school in Covelo. He joined the Military after high school. In the spring of 1945 he was stationed in the Philippines to be in the Japanese invasion forces. When Hiroshima was bombed he was delayed and later sent to Japan in the occupation forces for 11 months. He was discharged in 1946. He was a long time resident of Ukiah. Dural worked for Pacific Gas and Electric Company for 38 years. He was a member of the Ukiah Senior Center and the Ukiah Autobiography Club.
Dural is survived by his sister, Eula D. Copple and husband Nick, sister-in-law Rose McCombs and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or one’s favorite charity are preferred.
