Obituary:
Altamae McElroy died at home February 9, 2012. She was born October 25, 1919 in Ashley, Montana. She was 92 years old. Altamae was married to D.A. “Bert” McElroy for 66 years. He predeceased her in death in 2006.
She is survived by her children; Judith Nelson, Ron McElroy (Elizabeth), and Janeen Saunders (John). Altamae was predeceased by her siblings, Floyd Long and Mildred Strand.
Grandchildren: Casey Saunders (Sarah), Allison Saunders-Miller (Chris), Shannon Papineau (Eugene), and Heather. Great-Grandchildren: Alexis, Madison, Cason, Izabella, Brody, Vickie, Jack, and Jesse.
Altamae’s childhood was spent in and around Upper Lake, Ca. She went to school through High School in Upper Lake and graduated from the University of San Francisco.
She was a member of the Ukiah Emblem Club for approximately 50 years.
An excellent athlete in her own right, she followed the sports of her family and her favorite teams all through her life. She loved her “Giants”.
Per her request, there will be no services.
