Obituary:
Gerald “Jerry” Meyer, 75, of Ukiah passed away at home in Ukiah, on Sunday, December 7, 2014 with his family present. Jerry was born August 4, 1939 in Chico, Ca. He lived the past 66 years in Ukiah.
Jerry graduated high school in 1957. He worked for the City of Ukiah in the Electric Dept.
Jerry was proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved motorcycles and fast cars. Jerry was active in the Ukiah Elks Lodge #1728. His family will remember his contagious laugh, his unique sense of humor and his no nonsense attitude also the love of family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife Sue Meyer of Ukiah, stepdaughter Jana Buchanan (Jay Crawford) of Redding, Ca, sons Jerry Meyer Jr. of Ukiah, Ray (Mary Jane) Meyer of Ukiah and Jarrod (Sarah) Meyer of Ukiah, stepson Bob Buchanan (Mary Ann) of Nevada, sisters Marilyn Tyler (Mike) of Oregon, Kathleen Shestakoff of Ukiah, and Elizabeth Cooper of Ukiah, grandchildren Jason Bright, Brett Meyer, Dakota Meyer, 13 great grandchildren and numerous step grand and great grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents E.C. Meyer and LeClair Meyer, brother David Meyer.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Eversole Mortuary from 12 – 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Ukiah Elks Lodge from 11-3:00 PM
Arrangements are under the direction of the Eversole Mortuary.
