Udell Miller
Udell Miller died peacefully surrounded by family on March 2, 2016 at the age of 77.
Udell is survived by his long-time partner Carolyn McCollough and daughter Niki Hinkson of Calpella, California. He is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Henry and Rachel Miller of Ukiah, his siblings; Bob Miller, Lucille Mayfield, Louise Parker, Wynema Sloan, and James Miller.
Udell was born in Oklahoma on January 14, 1939 and relocated to Ukiah, California where he resided for over 68 years. He graduated from Ukiah High School in 1957. When he was younger, he enjoyed boxing with his friends in Ukiah at the old Rockys Pizza. He continued this passion throughout his military career. It was after that, he left Ukiah and entered the Army and served time in Korea as military police. After returning from the military, he worked as tribal police, worked with the railroad, and construction. Throughout his life, he worked in many occupations but none gave him as much satisfaction as his love for agriculture.
He was proud of his Native American culture and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with his family and friends. He enjoyed living life, travelling, fishing, having large family gatherings, and helping others. He will always be remembered for his generosity, honesty, adventures, kindness, acceptance, hospitality, and love for his children and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be at Eversole mortuary on Friday March 4, 2016 from 5-7pm. Funeral service will be held at Eversole Mortuary on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 1pm.
