James Elmer Mitchell, age 84, died at a local hospital on Saturday February 13, 2010. Born in Ukiah, James was a life-long resident. He liked hunting, fishing, gardening and collecting antiques and rocks.
He is survived by his daughter Catherine (husband John) Hoffman of Eureka, Debra Morgan of Boise, Idaho, sons James A. Mitchell of Redwood Valley, David (wife Rita) Mitchell of Santa Barbara, William (wife Lisa) Groom of Sumner, WA, sisters Marjorie Rice of Ukiah and Linda (husband Jess) Dalton of Ukiah. James is also survived by his grandchildren John Hoffman of Eureka, Brandon Mitchell of Santa Barbara, John Combs of Ukiah, Nathan Bonebrake of Florida, Mathew Bonebrake of Idaho, Kelly Morgan of Boise, ID, Jami Henry of Upper Lake, Mike Loijos, Chris Miller and Tim Miller all from Upper Lake. 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild also survive James.
James was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Mitchell, parents Claude Mitchell and Marion Dane, daughter Kathryn Groom and brother Robert Mitchell.
Private Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the care of The Eversole Mortuary.
