Obituary:
Jack Vernon Morris, 76, of Willits died April 3, 2014 at San Juan Mercy medical hospital in Carmichael, California.
Jack was born March 12,1938 in Gravette, Arkansas. He was a young child when his parents came to California.
Jack grew up in Ukiah and later resided in Willits where he raised his family. Jack served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years on the U.S.S. Roanoke. He spoke proudly and fondly of those years. Jack was a logging and lumber truck driver, millwright, an excellent mechanic and welder, and he also owned a car sales business in Willits for many years. Many remember him for his great big smile and upbeat attitude. He is survived by four children. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He has two surviving sisters; Elva Dumas of Citrus Heights, California and Bonnie Benback of Redwood Valley, California. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Willits Recreation Grove with full military honors.
