Obituary:
In loving memory of Howard Brooks Morse “Mouse” who passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at his home in Boonville, CA. He was born January 11, 1936 to Sarah & Howard Morse at Coast Hospital in Fort Bragg, CA.
Howard attended Anderson Valley High. In 1955, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country aboard the “Bon Hom” and the Midway carriers until he was honorably discharged in 1959. He returned home to Boonville to work in the logging industry. He worked for numerous logging companies, including Kay Hiatt, Van Pelt, Three Co., Shuster Logging, Okertrom, and Percy Leighton Logging. Howard was a Woods Boss for many years.
Howard is survived by his wife Jane and his children, Denise Morse of Boonville, Kirt Morse of Philo, Linda Woodard of Murfreesboro, Ark, Connie Lemons of Boonville, Randy Harding of Hot Springs, Ark., and Phillip Harding of Philo, 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by his son Michael Harding. Howard and Jane would have been married 50 years on November 11, 2011.
There will be a chance to pay your respects on Thursday, July 7, from 2:00 – 7:00 PM at the Eversole Mortuary. A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Boonville Fairgrounds in the lawn area under the Redwood trees from 1:00 – 6:00 PM. Bring your families, favorite dishes and your stories. Howard will be greatly missed.
