Obituary:
Mary E. Mossi passed away on January 30, 2016. She was 79. Mary was born in Thurmon, Iowa to Cassel and Ethel Moles. As a young girl she moved from Iowa to Scotts Mills, Oregon where she was raised with her brothers and sisters. When out of high school she fell in love with her first husband and had two boys. From there they moved wherever the Army took them. They finally settled in L.A. where she worked as a waitress and her husband started their own business. In the early 70’s she with her two sons moved to Hopland with her sister. And that was when she met and married Gilbert Mossi. The two of them had a BBQ Deli, catering business and a hot dog stand out at Mendo Mill. Her fun began. Gil was good to her. They traveled taking a lot of trips to Reno with their good friends, the Cagle’s. They would leave early in the morning and be back to eat out at the Broiler Steak House the same night for dinner. In 2011 she lost Gil and now she would make it to the Ukiah Garden Café for dinner with her good friend Dorothy. This last April 2015 she had a stroke and from this point she went down fast. I want to thank her good friend Dorothy for calling every day to visit and check on her to see how she was doing. Mary leaves behind her two sons Rodney and Tim Woolsey, her stepchildren Dean and Sherri Mossi and family from Ogden, Utah, Linda and Dave Rosetti and family from Chandler, Arizona and her sweet grandson who always took the time out of his day to call or drop everything and fly from L.A. during a busy schedule and spend the day with his step grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents Cassel and Ethel Moles, brothers Lloyd and Carol Moles, sisters Lois Fulmer, Doris Dooley and her baby Donna Woolsey. No services will be held. She will be cremated and buried with her husband in Hopland Cemetery.
