Obituary:
Julianna Wolfe Mulvaney Topp was born on February 9, 1923 in Phoenix, Arizona .The family moved to Escondido, CA. Their parents, Anna and Edward Wolfe, were professionals who were proud that during the depression their kids were able to wear shoes. Anna taught for many years in the Escondido Elementary schools while Edward was the California State Highway Maintenance Superintendant for Northern San Diego County.
She went to Escondido High School, graduated in 1943. She danced with the USO soldiers during the war followed by graduation from Oceanside Junior College, where she met her future husband Ed Mulvaney. Julie graduation from UCLA.
Julie was a member of the League of Women Voters for over 20 years, worked in the Tom Bradley for Mayor campaign, Yvonne Burke for House of Representatives and Los Angeles Supervisor campaign. She enjoyed working with Supervisor Burke, they made a good team.
Her second husband was Clancy Topp, a veteran of World War II who served in Merrills Marauders.
Julie retired from Burkes office as Assistant Chief Deputy to Los Angeles County Supervisor.
Julie was a widow, her husband, Clancy, died in 2000. Julie moved back to Los Angeles. She loved living in Venice Beach and walked the oceanfront regularly.
She is survived by her daughters: Ana Mulvaney of Dunsmuir, CA; Barbara Mulvaney of Queenstown, MD; son: John Mulvaney of Potter Valley, CA, formerly from Venice Beach.
Predeceased by her parents, Anna and Edward Wolfe and by her sister Margaret and brother Edward. Jack (Janice) Wolfe and Jim Wolfe live in Fullerton, CA
She spent the last several years in the comfortable landscape of Northern California with her family and visiting friends. She had been able to travel the world during her retirement, one of her life-long dreams. Julie passed away peacefully August 3, 2012 at 11:30 PM with her son John by her side. She often said that she was going to her great reward; she had much for which to be rewarded.
