Obituary:
Douglas W. Nidros “Diver Doug” passed away at home, June 4, 2011 after a long illness.
Born in 1933 in Santa Rosa, Ca. Doug wore many hats in his life. He served 2 tours of duty in the Korean War, Army 25th Division, worked as a butcher, a PG&E Lineman, liquor salesman & supervisor, dive shop owner of Ukiah Skin & Scuba & USS Watersports, scuba diving instructor, dive travel and tour leader & radio program host.
In his spare time, Doug rode dirt track, volunteered search & recovery; horse camped, traveled, built model ships & was a fanatical and good fisherman.
He loved his family, his home, his animals, telling a great story & a good bottle of scotch. He will be missed by many.
Dough is survived by his wife, Gail and children Leah & her husband Brady Bechtol, Laura & her husband CJ Johanssen & Rick Nidros and his brothers Richard Nidros & Bill Finley.
An open house celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 18 @ 2:00 PM at his home at 7920 Uva Dr. Redwood Valley.
