Ruby Lee Olson
April 7, 1923 – September 16, 2010

After waiting 23 years, Ruby Olson will be dancing once again with her beloved husband, Tom, as she “left for the dance” Thursday, September 16, 2010. Ruby died at home Thursday from a fall that caused a brain bleed that took her life. Her passing came quickly and she suffered no stress or pain. Ruby’s family was with her at the time of her death and held her as she gently “left for the dance” to be with her husband.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, and her son, Mike. She is survived by her daughters, Dee Dickey and her husband Roy of Portland, Oregon; Patty Green and her husband Dave of Santa Rosa, CA; and Pamela Daly of Santa Rosa, CA, formerly of Phoenix, AZ. Ruby is also survived by her grandchildren: Tim (and Maria) Weaver, Karen (and David) Hanlon, Christopher (and Heather) Olson, Angela Olson, Leslie (and Ashton) Parado, Michael (and Ashley) Olson, Eric and Jason Engleman, Kaitlyn Olson, Jessica Reyes, Shasta Jameson-Green, Mark Green, Clinton (and Gina) Kirk and Matthew (and Chrissy) Kirk; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends have described Ruby as “one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met” – and that is how we will all remember her!
A Memorial Service will be held for her at the Eversole Mortuary, 141 Low Gap Road, Ukiah, on Sunday, September 26, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor David Donnell officiating. Friends are invited to join us for the service and for a social afterward in the Todd Grove Park (Ukiah Municipal Park) at Live Oak & Cypress Streets in Ukiah. Maps will be available at the service.
