Obituary:
Margarett Louise Parducci passed away peacefully in her Ukiah home on February 25, 2021 at the age of 103. Born September 20, 1917 to Leila and Arthur Romer of Ukiah, Margarett grew up at the Romer Vista Dairy. After graduating from Ukiah High School Margarett married John Parducci in March 1937 and they celebrated nearly 77 anniversaries together.
An avid outdoors person, Margaretts gardens were the envy of many, always flourishing and immaculately cared for. She was as equally comfortable in her 4 wheel drive pickup as she was her car and could be frequently found on her ranch caring for a herd of sheep, sometimes numbering as many as 200 head. An accomplished cook and homemaker she made use of the bounty from her garden to prepare their meals, regularly utilizing the antique woodstove and oven in their kitchen during the winter months.
In support of the familys wine business Margarett hosted countless guests from all over the world, developed and oversaw a gift shop in the tasting room and maintained the surrounding gardens.
Always active in the community, she was involved with 4H, Mendocino County Farm Bureau, Grace Carpenter Hudson Sun House Museum, California Wool Growers Association and numerous other organizations.
She is preceded in death by her husband John, son Richard, parents Arthur and Leila Romer, sisters Mae Romer Lauer and Lila Romer Lee. She is survived by her son Bill, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A service will be held March 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Ukiah Cemetery, 940 Low Gap Road, Ukiah.
