Barbara Christie Bentley Paula Peterson
Barbara was born December 6, 1918 in Cloverdale to Rufus and Christie Bentley. She graduated from San Rafael High School in 1936. While attending Santa Rosa Junior College she met William (Bill) Paula. They married in 1940 in Reno, Nevada and settled in Petaluma on the Paula Family Dairy. There they raised their four children: John, Christie, Robert and James as well as family members Ralph Paula and Kathleen (Paini) Clemence. In 1978, they retired to the Floodgate area in Anderson Valley. Bill passed away in 1986.
In 1988, Barbara met John W. Peterson. They enjoyed a wonderful marriage until his passing in 1994. Barbara’s eldest son John R. Paula and youngest son James E. Paula also preceded her in passing. Barbara is survived by her daughter Christie Lee Dutro (Gary), son Robert “Butch” Paula (Buffy), and daughters in law Patricia Paula and Jacklyn Chandler, as well as 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of Barbara’s life on October 6, 1pm-4pm at the Anderson Valley Senior Center in Boonville.
