Petsch, Maurine L.
Maurine passed away peacefully on March 28, 2011 in Ukiah, Ca. following a courageous battle with leukemia. Maurine was 81 years old. She was born in Harper, Texas to Frank and Ottilie Wahrmund. Maurine married Eugene Petsch in 1948 and was a mother and homemaker to four children; Karol (Arlene) Petsch, Danny (Kathy) Petsch, Diane (Philip) Williams, and Pamela Petsch; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maurine was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Petsch.
After living in Texas for many years, Maurine and Eugene moved to Covelo, California in 1964 where Eugene was a school teacher and taught in the Round Valley Unified High School District until retirement. Maurine was a devout Catholic all her life, and was a member of the Covelo Lioness Club. Maurine’s Hobbies included gardening, cooking, traveling, dancing and fishing. Maurine always walked on the sunny side of the street. She will be greatly missed.
A Rosary will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary 141 Low Gap Road, in Ukiah. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 900 South Oak Street, in Ukiah. Following the Funeral Mass, graveside services will be conducted at Valley View Cemetery, Covelo, California at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Phoenix Hospice of Mendocino County, 100 San Hedrin Circle, Willits, Ca. 95490
