DJ Pomilia Obituary
David Joseph (DJ) Pomilia was born on December 16, 2003. He was in a fatal ATV accident on August 30, 2014 which ended his life. He was ten years old.
DJ was a kind, sweet boy with a heart and spirit that was beyond measure. He was a fifth grade student at Grace Hudson Elementary School where he had many friends including Gavin, Baylor, Zack, Lucas, Peyton and Jesus. He played soccer, basketball, baseball did karate and wrestled.
DJs greatest love, other than his family, was football. He was a member of the Jr Cubs football team through the Ukiah Lions Football and Cheer Program. DJ loved playing ball with his buddies Jace, Dylan, Ethan, Brian and Taj. He played offensive guard, defensive tackle, and was on special teams. What made DJ such an amazing football player was his heart. He had a fierce love of the game and truly enjoyed the spirit of competition. Win or lose DJ was there to play football and he always gave it his all.
DJ loved hunting, fishing, diving and building things. He loved to be out in the woods with his dad and brother and diving for abalone in the ocean. DJ loved the water. He was a good swimmer and would swim for hours in the ocean, a pool, the river or a lake. His most favorite family event was going camping with his family and other relatives especially his uncle Aaron and his Nonnie and Papa. DJ also truly enjoyed building things with his Grandpa and Uncle Dave and going shopping with his Nonna.
DJ loved his family most of all and he told them all the time. I love you daddy and Youre the best mommy in whole world are just a few of the kind words he shared with his family daily. DJ loved his big brother Frankie and always wanted to be where he was. Bubby can I go? is the question he asked his big brother the most. Where his big brother Frankie was, was where DJ wanted to be. The pain the loss of DJ has caused his family cannot be put into words. He was a very special little boy and he will be missed every second of every day.
DJ is survived by his father, Frank Anthony Pomilia III, his mother, Sharon Ann Pomilia, his older brother Frank Anthony Pomilia IV, his two sets of loving grandparents Frank and Kathy Pomilia Jr and Monnie and Kathy Wright as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Rest in peace sweet boy. We love you always and forever.
