Ray Jarvis Bartolomei passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023. He was born on June 29, 1934, in Ukiah, to parents Rena and Settimo Pete Bartolomei and is now reunited with his beloved wife, Norma. He grew up on the family ranch in Talmage with his two older sisters and many cousins working, riding horses and hunting. He married his highschool sweetheart, Norma Baker in 1955 and they had 3 children. Later he bought his parents vineyard then his aunt Rosie's and with the help of his sons established his grape growing legacy.

Ray was also an avid outdoorsman often taking Norma with him.  Deer hunting locally or going out of state for elk with friends and family.  Fishing at Crater Lake, pheasant hunting in Colusa, abalone diving at Albion Flats and going to gun shows in Reno. He always took the family on many vacations, among them 2 trips to Texas, Disneyland, the 1974 World's Fair in Spokane, WA, Safari World in Vallejo. And after the kids he traveled with Norma until her passing, in their trailer to many places and even flew to Europe.

Ray is survived by his children Raylene Schafer and husband Norman; Rory Bartolomei and wife Leslie; Vincent Bartolomei. His grandchildren Chad, Peter and wife Emah, and Kyle Schafer; Brooke Fernandez and husband Casey; Kolbin Bartolomei and wife Mae. And great grandchildren Reeve Fernandez; Tiller Rye and Oaklie River Schafer. Also his sisters Laura German and Joy Rupe. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma, grandson Braden Bartolomei and brother in laws Wallace German and David Rupe. There will be a gravesite service Tuesday, November 28 at 1 pm at Ukiah Cemetery.  Eversole Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
