Obituary:
Memorial services for Donald F. Ray of Hopland will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 1pm at the Hopland Reservation Gym. Born February 27, 1951, Donald passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.
Donald served in the US Army and received a Marksmanship Award. He was proud of helping develop Native Gaming in California, Consolidated Tribal Health and general housing on Reservation lands. He will be remembered for helping his people receive the resources they need to survive and thrive once again.
Donald is survived by Cathy Ray, daughter Elizabeth Ray, sons James Ray, Dexter Sullivan, Frederick Villagomes and his wife Charlene Costin all of Ukiah, brother Charles Pollard of Hopland, grandchildren Shawn Ray, Nahkila Ray, Miranda Ray, Anthony Costin, Tyler Costin, Cassady Costin, Adam Costin and Nerys Costin. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruby Feliz and Everett Ray and sisters Diane John and Rita Ray.
