Marjorie C. Rice
Marjorie passed away on May 26, 2010.
Margie was born on January 17, 1921 to Claude and Marion Mitchell in Ukiah, California. She graduated from Ukiah High in 1939. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Rucker and had two children: Ron Rucker and Cindy Lauenroth. She later married her second husband Robert B. Rice and had two more children, Robert Rice and Sharon Meyer.
Marjorie loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, swimming and especially gardening. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, taking her kids and grandkids camping, fishing and many other outdoor activities. She loved to square dance and was a long time member in the local square dance clubs.
She worked as a waitress at local restaurants for many years: Marions Coffee Shop, Model Bakery and Johns Lunch Box. She also worked in the Mendocino County Hospital kitchen.
Marjories family always came first. Her kids and grandkids could always count on her as helper, teacher, babysitter or any kind of encouragement that was needed. She is loved and will be missed by all of us.
She is survived by Ron and Diane Rucker of Ukiah, Cindy and Paul Lauenroth of Kelseyville, Robert Rice of Fort Bragg and Sharon Meyer of Fort Bragg.
