Ricky Dale Crowder

Ricky Dale Crowder, 77, of Ukiah passed away March 4th unexpectedly.

He graduated from Analy High School in 1963. He served in the Army April 1966-April 1969 as a microwave radio repairman. He was stationed in Korea for a year.

He worked for PT&T & Pacific Bell in Mendocino & Humboldt Counties as a splicer, Supervisor and engineer retiring at the end of 1991.  After retiring he did some contract work, drove truck, including fuel truck, worked as an investigator. He always said if you want a job there is one out there you just might need to try something different.

Willits Frontier always held a special place in his heart. He would spend many hours over decades involved with Willits Frontier Days. While living in Humboldt Co. he would take all of his vacation together and come to Willits and work at the grounds helping get ready for the annual rodeo & events.

He enjoyed spending time at the gun club helping with the CCW classes, going on “Fish Escape” with past coworkers and friends, lots of fun trips on the Harley with close friends. He touched so many lives.

He is survived by wife Mary for 47 years, son Greg (Julie) and grandchildren Morgan, Nate & Zach, special Aunt Rose Arfsten and his cousins Kae & June.  He is also survived by his adopted families, Marcy, Fred & Danielle Barry & Naomi, Brett, Shaunte, & Kyle Carroll.

He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel & Helen Crowder and brother, Sammy.
