Obituary:
Vibrant, vivacious, delightful, humorous, a bright spark, passionate and opinionated, gifted, creative and talented only begin to describe Barbara Steadman Rones. Foremost, she was a wife, mother to four children, Mimi to six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, aunt, and friend. Her passions were many, tantamount were her family and friends, and her many talents, which included music and art. Gifted from birth, she could plainly do anything she wrapped her mind around. Her music was God-given, it was simply in her soul. It could honestly be said that Barbara missed little in life; she lived it to the fullest and with tremendous zeal. She left this earth as she came in, basically on her terms.

Barbara had a rich heritage coming from pioneer beginnings in the Willits Valley in the 1880’s. Her family lineage includes the Corbetts, Whitmans, Yudes, and Frosts. She was born in Willits on September 1, 1925. Her parents, Bob and Verna Corbett, owned the original Spring Grove Creamery, where she grew up “on the farm,” and loved the peace that life provided. Her bright spark left us on December 27, 2018; she was 93 years old. She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Rones, of Ukiah; her four children, Dan, Debbie, Marileigh and Judith, together with her beloved grandchildren. She really did live life “on her own terms.” She definitely set an example in her zeal and uniqueness. She will truly be missed. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Brennan Steadman, and her husband, Alfred Osborn.

Services will be held Saturday, January 5th at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 514 West Church Street, Ukiah, CA. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a charity of your choice.
