Obituary:
Charles Vincent Rovera passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2019 at home in Redwood Valley. Born July 1, 1971 in Ukiah, Charlie graduated Ukiah High School in 1990 and received an Associates Degree from Heald Business College. Charlie played Little League through Colt League, CYO basketball, was ball boy for Lions Pop Warner and played baseball for Ukiah High and softball in the Ukiah Mens League. He was an avid fan of Duke basketball, Yankee baseball, Notre Dame football, Pittsburg Steelers and Formula One Racing. Affectionately known by his alter ego, Achille Varzi, he loved Ferraris, his faithful dog Vinny and hanging with friends at his house that was called the Compound. A self-taught musician, anytime there was an open mic somewhere you would find Charlie playing his guitar. Bands that he played in were Compound Fracture, Usual Suspects and Fat Chance Truckin Band. Charlie is survived by his mother Barbara Rovera, aunts Lucille Neese, Margaret Rovera and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Floyd, sister Tracy, grandparents Vincent and Rose Lotti, Charles and Margaret Rovera and uncles Bill Neese and Don Rovera. At Charlies request no formal services are to be held. Local bands will be holding a tribute to Charlie at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to St. Judes Childrens Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105; NAMI Mendocino P.O. Box 1945 Ukiah or ones favorite charity are preferred.
