Amy Salo
Fort Bragg mother of three and local trainer Amy Rochelle Salo died
tragically on Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at the age of 36. Amy was born Nov. 17, 1972, at Mendocino Coast District Hospital to Pamela Adell Tomaselli, who herself died in a car accident when Amy was only 9. Amy and her sister, Denise, were then entrusted into the care of their grandparents, Wilma and Cecil Christman. Amy attended the Mendocino school system until her junior year, then switched over to Fort Bragg where she was part of the 1991 graduating class. Amy was a spin class instructor and sports trainer at the local Mendocino Sports Club. She loved her work, clients and co-workers. Above all, Amy's beloved children were the center of her universe.
Amy leaves behind her sister, Denise Johnston, and three beautiful children,
Kaleb Salo, Reid Salo and Ella Casey, along with two stepsons, a niece and
two nephews. She also leaves behind many friends and family members who will be at a loss without her.
Memorial services will be held at Hare Creek Beach this Saturday, Aug. 29,
at 2 p.m., followed by a potluck at the Mendocino Sports Club. Donations
made in honor of Amy will be taken at the Mendocino Sports Club and put into a trust for her children's benefit. Donations may also be sent to the
