Jane Kathleen Gregory Scott

Jane Kathleen Gregory Scott, age ninety nine of Ukiah, California died on May 14, 2017 at her home in Ukiah. Jane was born in Portland, Oregon on January 18, 1918 to Isa Ruth Austin and James Neal Gregory. While attending
Camas High School in Washington, she met her future husband James William (Bill) Scott. They were married in 1944 in Camas, Washington. In 1946 they had their first child, a daughter named Rebecca.


The family moved to Ukiah in l950 when Bill received a job offer from Masonite. In 1951 they had another daughter, Greglyn Kay.


Jane loved Ukiah and the many friends she made. She joined the Ukiah Ladies Golf club and played well into her eighties. In the fifties she helped organize a bridge club which continued to meet on a monthly basis until recently . She was a member of the Ukiah Methodist Church which she attended for more than sixty years. Bill and Jane loved to dance and both enjoyed good music of all kinds. They also enjoyed the activities at the Elk's Club and Ukiah Senior Center.


She is survived by her daughters, son-in-law Brent Fox, granddaughters Brandy Fox McMahon and Natalie Lawson, great granddaughters Winifred Fox McMahon and Josephine Jane McMahon as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in l999 and her sister Betty Horrigan in 2002.

Inurnment will be in the Camas Cemetery where she will rejoin her parents, husband, in-laws, friends and family of almost a century.
