Obituary:
Michael “Bubba” Silva, beloved father, brother, uncle, son and friend passed away suddenly on Friday, August 21, 2009. He was 42. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Antonio and Mary Silva and Allen and Stella Wright, his uncles Charlie Wright, Herb Wright and Marvin Silva, his aunts Josephine Wright, Carolyn Wright, Edna Silva-Fallis and Kate Wright, his cousins Charlie Wright Jr., Ricky Wright, Rodney Wright and Raymond Fallis.

Michael is survived by his sons Willie and Darrin Silva, his parents John and Lucille Silva, his sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and Jorge Alvarado, his brother and sister-in-law A.J. and Christy Silva and many nieces and nephews: Renee Jimenez, Felipe Soliz, Olivia Alvarado, Jorge Alvarado Jr., John Silva, Tyler Silva, Katie Silva, Jordan Stillday, Nathan Soliz, Delia Soliz, Mariah Alvarado, Jorge Alvarado III, Noah Reay and Chloe Pardini and numerous cousins. Michael was born in Ukiah in 1966. He lived here all his life, graduating from Ukiah High School in 1984.

Michael, or “Bubba” to almost all who knew him, was always very passionate about stockcar racing, which began with helping his dad in the pits when he was young. Bubba was quite skilled at building and setting up a racecar. He raced his own bomber at both Ukiah and Lakeport Speedways for many years, winning points championship in Ukiah in 2002 and 2003. Over the past few years Bubba was the flagman at Ukiah Speedway on Saturday nights while continuing to support his son Darrin in racing Go-Karts and Bandoleros.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 7 pm at Eversole Mortuary. Services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 10 am at Eversole Mortuary with interment immediately following at Pinoleville Trust Cemetery of Ukiah. Reception following the services will be held at Coyote Valley Rancheria.
