Jenny Lynn Stipp age 72 died at her Lakeport home after a brief illness on Tuesday afternoon May 31, 2011 surrounded by her family.
She was born to Jesse and Mona Stipp on August 11, 1938 in Lovelady Texas. Jenny was the granddaughter of Ed and Lillian Stipp who moved their young family from Indiana to Ukiah in 1889. Jenny lived in Ukiah until 1990. She was a member of the Ukiah High School Class of 1956. She competed in the Miss Mendocino Pageant and was awarded Miss Congeniality and Miss Showstopper. She attended San Francisco State University. Jenny married in 1958 to Adrian Boer and made their home on the Stipp Ranch. She worked for the New Accounts Department at the Savings Bank of Mendocino County. Later for the Mendocino County Recorders Office. In 1990, she moved to Lakeport and became involved in real estate.
Jenny was an active member of the community. She was very talented in music and played the organ for many churches, she was a lifelong student of life.
Jenny is survived by her sons; Michael (Nadine) Boer of Ukiah and Richard (Carrie) Boer of Soledad. Two grandsons, Michael Emilio Boer and Adriaan Johannes Boer both of Ukiah. She also leaves behind numerous cousins in Ukiah, Indiana, and in Texas. Jenny will be remembered by the many friends she made through each job, group and community in which she was involved.
A Memorial Celebration will be held Graveside at the Russian River Cemetery located on 940 Low Gap Road in Ukiah at 11:00 AM on June 14, 2011. In lieu of flowers, Jenny requested that donations in her memory may be made to support the Lake County Hospice Services located on 1717 Main Street Lakeport, Ca. 95453 or the Charity of your preference or with Jenny in mind, do a good deed. Jenny will be smiling.
