Graveside services for Martha “Neva” Stone of Ridgecrest will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Ukiah Cemetery. Neva passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in Lancaster with family by her side.
Born November 5, 1923 in Ada, Oklahoma she was the 5th of ten children, 5 girls and 5 boys. She married Harold Stone on February 15, 1942. They moved to Humboldt County in 1952, to Ukiah in 2000 and after Harold passed away in 2009 she moved to Ridgecrest.
Neva was an avid fisherman. She loved to garden, embroider and crochet. She was proud of and enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables.
Neva is survived by her daughter Joan Mathewson and husband Wes of Ridgecrest, son Tommy Stone and wife Jann of Ukiah, sister Opal Richardson of Rayville, LA, grandchildren Tom Stone Jr and wife Amber of Cloverdale, Mindy Smith and husband Michael of Oceanside, Frederick Campbell and wife Lourdes of Ridgecrest, Rebecca Baca and husband Daniel of Ridgecrest, great grandchildren Christopher, Kevin and Gaby Campbell of Ridgecrest, Crystal and Ruby Stone of Cloverdale, Brandon Regan and Faith Baca of Ridgecrest and Alex Smith of Oceanside.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society are preferred.
