On the 26th of July 2014, in the early morning hours, heaven received a new soul, Harry H. Stutsman.
He was born in Hopland CA in 1927 to James and Ruth Stutsman. He and his 5 siblings grew up and graduated from Hopland High School. He joined the Navy in 1945 and spent 21 years traveling the Pacific Ocean. After retiring from the Armed Forces, he became a resident of Ukiah CA where he worked as a Letter Carrier in the Ukiah Post Office for the next 20 years.
In 2013 (to be closer to his son) he moved to San Diego CA. He had just celebrated his 87th birthday the week before he passed and went quitely and peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by his 2 sisters, Doris Richey of Ukiah CA and Charlotte Getchell of Lemoore CA, his son Steven with wife Robin of San Diego CA, his daughter Teresa Stutsman-Tice of Rohnert Park CA. He also has 3 grand-sons and a grand-daughter and 6 great-grand-children.
He will be solely missed by his family and friends. He is to be buried in Ukiah Cemetery next to his wife, Arlene Bates-Stutsman, who passed in December 2004 and near his first son, George Wesley Stutsman who passed in May 1989.
Graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, August 30th at 1pm.
