Susie Johnson

Susie Johnson was born in Vallejo, California, on October 19, 1947, and she passed away on March 13, 2025. Her family moved to Ukiah when she was six years old, and that is where she happily spent the rest of her life. Her childhood was idyllic, and she had a joyous life filled with family and friends.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Bill, and they had two sons, Steve (“Mila”/Mercy) and Peter (Adriana), and four wonderful grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Henry, Luke, and Jude. Her parents, John and Gene Crofoot, and her three brothers, Tom (Dorothy), Pete (Judy), and Mike (Carol), were a very important part of her life. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and teacher. She developed lifelong friendships that were cherished, and these special relationships served her and others throughout their lives.

Susie enjoyed working at the park pool when she was young, her 40 years teaching elementary school students brought her immense joy, and she truly loved dispatching trucks for 32 pear harvests. Her youthful energy and zest for life never diminished, and she gave us all so much, whether it be a joke, a smile, a kind word, or a field trip. She made everything more enjoyable, and we all appreciated seeing her, no matter how short the encounter. “Remember me with smiles and laughter for that is the way I will remember all of you, and thank you for helping make my life a good one. . .”

At her strict request, no gatherings or services will be held, but please do not hesitate to raise a glass to her for her love, for her friendship, and for a life well-lived.
